The 10kΩ value in the BOM is the reference resistor for the divider, not a chosen piece identity.
Information to record when assigning values
Each entry will need identity, applicable sensor family, nominal resistance, resistor tolerance, measured ADC/resistance band, and calibration context. Whether different sensor families can reuse a resistor value remains to be specified. Values must be distinguishable within every family where they can appear.
Reserve unambiguous empty and unknown classifications. Do not assign a valid piece near an open-circuit boundary or rely on a single exact ADC value. Account for component variation and repeated real contact placement, not just ideal resistor calculations.
Calibration relationship
Use calibration to measure known pieces, then establish non-overlapping acceptance bands across the intended operating conditions. A reading outside an accepted band remains unknown even if one nominal value happens to be closest.
Registry versioning and where calibrated values are stored remain open. Examples in diagnostics are illustrative and must not be copied into this registry as final assignments.
